Sarah Schuster
Assistant Volleyball Coach
A former NCAA Division I setter with ties to Simpson, Sarah Schuster begins her first season on the Storm coaching staff in 2011.
Schuster comes to Simpson after spending the past three seasons as a volunteer assistant at her alma-mater, Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. A 2008 graduate of Drake, Schuster was the starting setter for the Bulldogs from 2004-07.
An experienced club and camp coach, Schuster currently teaches third grade at Irving Elementary School in Indianola. She also serves as the freshman and sophomore club volleyball coach and begins her seventh season with the Johnston Volleyball Club. Schuster has led the Indianola High School volleyball camps as well as the middle school and high school summer camps at Drake.
Schuster is the older sister of former Simpson player Amy Schuster, who earned all-conference honors three times in her career from 2007-10.
Barb Overton
Assistant Volleyball/Marketing Assistant & Camp Coordinator
Serving as an assistant for Storm Volleyball for 13 seasons, Barb Overton, is the camp coordinator. Based upon years of experience as a coach, she provides leadership in coordinating a camp schedule which will be fun and a positive experience for players and coaches. Simpson volleyball camps are fine-tuned each year to make them the best in the state!
Overton previously coached in the Indianola High School volleyball program for nine years. As the head volleyball coach at Indianola High School in 1998, she led the Indians to a conference championship, a regional berth and 33-9-2 record. Overton also is a marketing assistant in Simpson’s Athletic Department.
A highly energetic staff will be assembled to provide a premier camp experience. Included will be experienced Simpson College players who will assist with demonstrations, supervision, and training of camp players.
